Bradford J. Cooke, President, Director and C.E.O.
A professional geologist, Mr. Cooke has more than 20 years experience
in geology and mineral exploration. He holds two university degrees
in geology and has worked with the Ontario Department of Mines,
Noranda, Shell and Chevron. Between 1983 and 1987 he owned and operated
Cooke Geological Consultants, which found and developed several
gold vein deposits for clients, and effectively reactivated interest
in the Bralorne gold district -- historically, the largest gold
producing region in British Columbia. In 1987, with the private
management company ARC Resource Group, he founded Canarc and has
overseen the growth of the company since that time, participating
hands-on in the acquisition and exploration of strategic gold properties
throughout the Americas.
W. Derek Bullock, Director
Mr. Bullock brings over 30 years of mine operating, engineering,
and consulting experience to Canarc's Board of Directors. Since
1980, Mr. Bullock has been President of Bullock Engineering Corporation,
a Canadian mining and mineral resources consulting and management
organization. His hands-on experience in the mining industry has
taken him from the position of contract miner to Superintendent
of Mining Engineering, giving him exceptional skills in mining operation
and management.
Leonard
Harris, Director
Leonard Harris is a metallurgical engineer by training
who rose through the ranks in the mining industry to ultimately
hold senior management positions with Newmont Mining and Newmont
Gold prior to leaving in 1995. He worked as a metallurgist with
Mount Morgan, Mount Isa, Texada Mines and Radium Hill mining companies
in Australia, Taquah and Aboso Mines in Ghana, Cerro de Pasco Corporation
in Peru, and Cerro Corporation in New York until 1974. Leonard then
moved to the Newmont group of companies, holding senior management
positions including President of Newmont Peru, Vice President and
General Manager for Newmont Latin America and General Manager of
Minera Yanacocha.
Stephen
Peck, Director
Stephen Peck is an economist who has been active
in the financial and investment sectors for many years. He co-founded
the investment firm of Weiss, Peck and Greer, was a Governor of
the New York Stock Exchange for several years and acted as its Vice-Chairman
from 1971 to 1972. He has served on the Audit Committee of the City
of New York, and as a Director of several large corporations, including
Tiger International, Greyhound Lines, Grand Union, and Reliance
Insurance.
Chris Theodoropoulos, LL.B, Director
Mr. Theodoropoulos brings over 12 years of experience
in mining, corporate and securities law to the Company. He is also
Vice- President and General Counsel to Cedar Group Inc., an international
engineering and infrastructure company, and was most recently a
partner with the law firm, Smith Lyons.
Steward
Lockwood, Secretary, Legal Counsel
Mr. Lockwood holds an LLB degree from Osgoode Hall and an MBA from
UBC and the London Business School. Stewart has over 15 years of experience
working in the security industry in Vancouver, both at law firms and
at the VSE, having daily interaction with the BC Securities Commission.
He is responsible for preparation of prospecti and all other corporate
documentation of public companies both fromthe regulatory and the
corporate viewpoint.
Godfrey Walton, Exploration Consultant
Mr. Godfrey Walton, M.Sc., is responsible for
overseeing all of the Company's exploration projects as well as
reviewing all exploration property acquisitions and dispositions.
Mr. Walton has broad experience and knowledge
of mining exploration and project management, including precious
metals, base metals and diamonds in North America, South America
and Europe. Mr. Walton will be joining Canarc from Hemlo Mines Inc.,
where he was most recently District Geologist, N.W. North America.
Other positions he held include Senior Geologist and Site Manager
at Chevron Minerals' Lisheen project in Ireland and Senior Geologist
with Chevron Minerals in Vancouver for 15 years.
Richard
Williams, Exploration Manager
Mr. Williams, MSc., has a Bachelors degree in
Geology from Portsmouth University, England, and a Masters Degree
in Mineral Exploration from Queens University, Kingston, Canada.
Mr. Williams has 11 years experience in gold mining
and mineral exploration. He spent 4 years working for Anglo American
Gold Corporation as a Mine Geologist at the Western Holdings Gold
Mine, in Welkom, South Africa, a Witwatersrand style gold deposit.
Mr. Williams joined Canarc in 1994, and spent
5 years in Suriname, South America as Canarcs Exploration Manager.
While in Suriname, he oversaw all operational aspects of the Sara
Kreek and Benzdorp greenstone-hosted lode gold exploration projects,
and was also responsible for identifying potential exploration acquisitions
in the Guyana Shield.
In 1998, Mr. Williams was transferred to Canarcs
Vancouver office to become Acquisitions Manager.
James G. Moors, Exploration Geologist
James Moors, B.Sc. P.Geo, has a Bachelor's degree in Geology from the University of Waterloo, Waterloo, Canada. He has 14 years experience in gold exploration; three of which were with Canarc from 1993 to 1995 when he managed exploration activities on the New Polaris property. He rejoined the Canarc team in 2002 after managing exploration and evaluation programs for Homestake Canada Inc. and serving as Director of Information with the BC & Yukon Chamber of Mines.
